You have the choice between the Airport Catania or Palermo. On the highway A20 Messina - Palermo take the highway exit Barcellona P.G. from direction of Catania or Messina or the highway exit from Falcone from direction of Palermo.
Here at the Bar Rhodis right beside the statue (angel with sword in his hand) on the piazza of Rodi Milici we wait for you and take you to Borgo al Costa. So you don't have to look around for long. Even if you arrive late at night - we will wait for you!
Here are the information for your GPS
We called our 10 holiday homes „Borgo al Costa“, because all of them are located in a small lane called Vico Costa (Coastal Corner). In former times several families lived here. Today these typical Sicilian farmhouses look like a small castle.
The German owners completely restored the former Sicilian farmhouses of Borgo al Costa and with love and care changed them into real gems in Sicilian country house style.
It was strictly paid attention to preserve the old style and the charm of bygone times without neglecting comfort and modern technology. In the brickwork kitchens it is great fun to prepare Sicilian meals especially as you can enjoy your delicious meal outside on one of the large terraces with like minded people and a glass of red Sicilian wine.
The areas round the pool, the sauna and the barbecue as well as the large garden offer a lot of opportunities to sit together in groups. But don`t worry! There are enough spots and niches in the garden where you can withdraw in case you want to be on your own to read a good book under a fig tree for example.
Air condition, Sat-TV (all international programmes), Internet access and heating are just some of the characteristics providing a restful holiday in Borgo al Costa. A lot of timber, natural stones and old Terracotta tiles create a very cosy atmosphere and it is always hard to say good bye to Borgo al Costa at the end of the holidays.
The centre of this typical Sicilian village with several restaurants, bars and supermarkets is just ca. 200m away. Neither is an impressive dome watching over the piazza of Rodi Milici nor is an antique temple waiting for the visitors. But there are three churches in Rodi and though not mentioned in any travel guide they are worth seeing for their typical rural charm. But not for the churches our guests come to Rodi Milici. The village is not depending on tourism. You won`t find souvenir shops or expensive luxury goods round each corner.
Rodi offers you much more!
It is an original, traditional and vivid Sicilian village. Not even in winter you'll find the shops or restaurants closed and the pavements “fold up”. You are part of sheer Sicilian every-day-life – 365 days a year!
Rodi Milici is about 30 km from Milazzo and 17 km from Barcellona P.G. away and is divided into 2 districts: Rodi and Milici. Borgo al Costa is located in Rodi.
In Rodi Milici time is completely in church hands. Punctually, i.e. each quarter of an hour the bells of Chiesa dell'Immacolata - the ochre and bolt looking church - ring in the small Sicilian village. Higher strokes announce the full hours, deeper ones the quarters. 24 hours during the day. Each individual timekeeping is unnecessary for the 3.200 inhabitants and the – thank God – few tourists who are spending here their holidays away from the normal Sicilian holiday resorts.
Holidays just a quarter of an hour away from the Golfo di Tindari with its beautiful sandy beaches. Holidays in a nice and hilly landscape. Holidays right in the midst of the villagers and their everyday lives. That is the attraction of this non-irritating but intact village. Life is revolving around the people who live here. What a contrast to all these artificial holiday resorts at the sea just thrown up for tourists and livened up only during the high season in July and August. The deep sleep afterwards doesn't make them better.
In Rodi Milici it is different. Here life has a pleasant and quiet rhythm. Day by day.
